During the early days of our church, I worked in Dae-gu. One day, while I was praying, God gave me such a deep hope that 'We are going to mission any work through broadcasting and publishing.' As we looked at the situation, it was only a 'dream.' However, I used to give my testimony to the church saying, "we will preach the gospel through broadcasting and publishing." Therefore, our church brothers and sisters prayed, "Lord, let Pastor Park preach through broadcasting," during prayer meetings.

A few years later, while we were having our winter retreat in the CCC training center, a church brother brought a business card and said, "Pastor, this man wants to see you." So I looked at the business card, it said, The Far East Network,
Department of Programming, Mr. so-and-so.' Because I was leading a group meeting I could not arrange time for him, so he waited and went back. Later, he came to our church twice to meet me, but he could not meet me then, either. Afterward, we could talk over the phone and finally we got to meet each other. He asked me cordially, "Pastor Park, please, preach the message in our broadcasting station."
"Sending messages through broadcasting costs a lot of money, but this is the only way to preach the gospel to the brethren in Russia, China, and North Korea. The l etters from them reproaches us that 'spiritual contents of the program are too poor.' We have been praying for a pastor who can preach the Word of Life. The message that I heard a few days ago in the CCC training center touched my heart so deeply that I would like to ask you to preach over the air."
But I could not say, 'Yes' right away because the broadcasting crew didn't seem to welcome me. Later, a paster from another church who had been having the Bible study with me asked me to mediate between him and the Far East Network so he could preach there. So I visited the programming department of the Far East Network. As I entered the department of programming, the staff who had visited me said, "Director, this is he." Then the director requested me to broadcast my preaching. The director ignored the other pastor and asked me to preach, saying, "Let's make a contract." I signed the contract inescapably and started to give messages.
So far I had never preached a sermon with notes. They said all the pastors who have preached in the Far East Network had a note while they were preaching. So it might be considered very arrogant for a young pastor to preach without a note, I thought. I tried to write notes at home, but I could not. I admire those who preach with notes prepared. I recorded my preaching first and then I tried to copy from the tape to make a manuscript, but I could not do it, either. After all, I went to the broadcasting station with empty hands and said, "I can not do it."
"What are you talking about? Programs have already been scheduled. If you do not preach, that hour will be left blank."
"But, I can not preach at all."
"Please, don't say you can't. Why don't you just try once?"
"When I can't even put words together to make sense, how can I give a message?"
"That is not correct. You are a pastor, not an announcer. An announcer should have a glib tongue, but you do not need it. You just have to preach the truth." "But I did not even prepare notes, how can I preach here?"
"Why do you need notes? You just have to preach the words as you did at the CCC training center."
Eventually, I stood before microphone for the first time in my life. The time given to me was 15 minutes, but without the commercials, it was exactly 14 minutes and 30 seconds. I said, "Hello, everyone," and I began my message regarding Genesis, chapter 1.
As the message on the air, the brothers and sisters gained a lot of strength, and the broadcasting station received letters from all over. The broadcasting station estimates the ratio of listening by letters. They started to make my sermon tapes and supply them according to requests from the listeners. A preacher sent me a letter and it said, "Pastor, everyday I acquire the theme of my message while listening to your sermon." About three months later, the broadcasting station suggested me, "Pastor, let's rearrange your time." They assigned me the prime time of the Far East Network, and called it 'Good News' which aired twice a week. The message went on the air continuously. The more positive response I received it, the more I was slandered. 'Pastor Ock-soo Park is a heretic. Why do you let him preach over the air?' Many people complained by letters and phone calls. Every time a complaint was made, a staff of the Department of Programming answered, "Pastor Ock-soo Park whom I have known is not a heretic. Also, every message that was sent on the air had nothing wrong based upon the Bible. Because his sermon is so touching and he has lots of listeners, we are broadcasting his message on the air. We can arrange a meeting for you to meet Pastor Park in person, if you want to." When I went to the broadcasting station to record, the staff gathered together to listen to my sermon. We talked about the faith after recording. The staff showed me the letters of complaints and also gave me other letters from listeners.

One day, the director of the programming department came and said, "Pastor, there are too many resistances from outside. Please, wait for a year until it calms down."
"Okay."
I knew in my heart that God is the one who opened the door to broadcasting preaching. The one who closes the door will be God, too. However, there was one thing that made me sad. It was that I did not preach the gospel to the listeners, yet. I was going to preach the gospel after giving them sermons step by step, plowing the soil of their hearts. I prayed, "God, thank you for letting me preach the words through the broadcasting station. Please, open the door for me to preach the gospel to the listeners." The staff members were sorry and sad that my preaching had to stop, saying,"We don't understand how they are going to stand before God when they obstruct the words of God from being spread."
After the broadcasting had stopped, I was leading a meeting for married women in my church. I received a call from the broadcasting station one day, saying, "Pastor, please come to the broadcasting station as quickly as possible." I went to the broadcasting station as soon as women's meeting was over. "Let's go to the studio and record. We do not have time." Being asked importunately I thought to myself, 'Lord is giving me a chance to preach the gospel. 'Recording four 30 minute tapes for 2 hours, I could preach the gospel to my heart's content. After finishing my recording, I shook hands with the staff and my preaching over the air completely stopped after four of the last messages.

The Lord led me to preach the gospel through media of radio wave not only within the country, but also to China, Russia, and North Korea. None of my methods have been included in accomplishing it. First the Lord gave me faith which I would preach the gospel by broadcasting, and then He did it Himself. The Lord has kept every promise that He made to me. I have no doubt that God will complete the preaching of the gospel to the end of the earth regardless of our abilities.
